Who keeps Hour by Hour

Hour by Hour is kept by the Ink desk, its own editorial team; no page bears a personal byline. It exists because Metro Vancouver's nine casinos keep different hours, and inside one casino the floor, live tables and poker room can differ again.

The Ink desk

The Ink desk is the editorial team behind Hour by Hour, credited as a single desk. No page names a person. The site takes no money from casinos, BCLC, PlayNow or help services, and it is never paid for linking to them.

Hour by Hour takes no bets, keeps no player accounts and does not set one room above another. Each paid link on the home page is marked Ad and earns the site a commission. Those links lead to a private online casino that is not PlayNow and is neither run nor licensed by the province. The partner behind them can change.

How the hours are read

The Ink desk dates each check it makes. On October 7, 2026, it checked the casinos' own pages and official sources. Some casino websites stop automated tools from reading them, so for those the desk reads archived copies of the same pages.

Every published hour goes into one week that starts at Monday 12 AM. A night that runs past midnight splits into two parts, one on each day. Where a casino publishes nothing for an hour, the desk marks it as not stated or not published and does not guess. The full method sits on its own page, How the hours here are drawn.

Where the pictures come from

Every picture on Hour by Hour is a generated image drawn in manga style. Some redraw real places from photographs: the show lounge at Cascades Casino Langley, River Rock Casino Resort over its marina and the theatre at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver. Three redraw freely licensed photographs, and each carries a credit under it with the photographer and licence. The people shown were invented by the image generator. None of them is employed by a casino or by BCLC.
